How the Dating Archetype Test picks your archetype
Each of the 16 statements is rated from 0 (not at all) to 3 (painfully accurate). Every statement feeds one archetype at full weight, and a few feed a second one at half weight. Each archetype’s score is its points divided by its maximum, as a percentage. The highest percentage is your archetype; the second highest is your “also close to”. Ties go to the archetype listed first.

Eight archetypes, sixteen statements, no hidden logic. This page explains how a set of “painfully accurate” ratings turns into “The Golden Retriever”.
The statements
You rate 16 statements on a four-point scale: not at all (0), a bit (1), pretty much (2), painfully accurate (3). Each statement was written for exactly one archetype — two statements per archetype — and describes a behaviour, not a feeling: reply speed, cancelling plans, texting rules, how you react when someone likes you. Three statements also feed a second archetype at half weight, because some behaviours genuinely belong to two of them (a Golden Retriever’s obvious crush is also a bit Hopeless Romantic).
The eight archetypes
The Golden Retriever, the Iceberg, the Hopeless Romantic, the Chaos Flirt, the Slow Burn, the Protagonist, the Accidental Heartbreaker and the Strategist. They are original to Wabiro, deliberately exaggerated, and written so that every one of them has real strengths as well as things to watch. No archetype is the “good” one.
Scoring
For each archetype we add up (rating × weight) across the statements that feed it, divide by the maximum it could reach, and express that as a percentage. So each archetype gets its own 0–100 score, and they do not add up to 100 between them.
Your archetype is the one with the highest percentage. Your secondary is the next one. When two are exactly equal, the tie goes to the archetype with the lower priority number — the order they are listed in — which is fixed and documented so the same answers always give the same result.
Distribution checks
Before publishing, we simulate thousands of random and patterned answer sets to verify that every archetype can be reached, that no single archetype captures most random respondents, and that the two statements written for an archetype are enough to make it win when they are rated highly. Those checks run automatically on every change.
What the result is not
It is not a personality assessment, a compatibility prediction or advice about who to date. It is a mirror with a sense of humour: a label you will recognise, two strengths, three things to watch and one thing to try. Your ratings never leave your device; if you share, only the archetype name travels.
Versioning
Version 1. Any change to a statement, a weight or an archetype creates a new version, and results keep the version they were computed with.
