The Ick

Solo, it’s a quiet audit of your own standards, plus a peek at what the community finds unbearable once enough votes are in. With friends, read each one aloud and vote at the same time; anyone who says “no ick” to something truly cursed has to explain themselves. In a Party Room, everyone votes from their own phone and the result lands at once. With a partner, play at your own risk — and maybe check quietly whether you do any of them.

Intensities

  • FamilyGrandma-proof
  • FunSilly, never awkward
  • AwkwardCringe and embarrassing
  • HardProvocative, uncomfortable
  • Spicy 18+Adults only
  • Unhinged 18+Adults only, no limits

Levels 5 and 6 are for adults only: you confirm you are 18 or older before they are dealt.

Questions

What does “the ick” mean?

It’s the sudden turn-off you get over a small, often harmless detail — the way someone runs for a bus, a word they use — after which you can’t see them the same way again.

How do you play the ick game with friends?

Read a card aloud from one phone and everyone says ick or no ick at the same time, or open a Party Room so up to sixteen people vote on their own phones and see the split together.

Is it free?

Yes, levels 1 to 4 are free with no account. Levels 5 and 6 are 18+ behind an age confirmation; part of them is free and the full 18+ deck comes with the Games Pass (one-time purchase, also in Wabiro+).
